Mission

Print-ED Taiwan seeks to implement innovative 3D printing programs with schools across southern Taiwan.
Our classes allow students to design real-world applications of technology in a scaffolded and approachable manner. We aim to foster curiosity, problem-solving, and confidence while equipping schools and teachers with resources to sustain long term 3D printing programs after initial implementation.
Print-ED curricula highlights the groups we bring together: American, Taiwanese, and Taiwanese Indigenous communities.
Story

Ethan and Sasha first met while studying abroad in Taiwan on scholarships sponsored by the U.S. State Department. Over nine months in Kaohsiung, they volunteered in schools in Indigenous, rural, and urban communities. These experiences sparked lasting relationships with students and teachers. Together with their partner schools, they began building Print-ED, a collaborative initiative to bring creative, hands-on 3D printing programs to classrooms.
In January 2025, they piloted the program with Print-ED Maine, a half-day workshop where 4th graders at Margaret Chase Smith Elementary School in Maine explored the fundamentals of 3D modeling and printing.
In August and September of 2025, the team worked to bring the program full circle and return it to Taiwan.
